1. Who we are
WedGenie (wedgenie.ai) is an AI wedding-planning service: a planning assistant you chat with, plus tools that generate speeches, invitations, photos, and short films for your wedding. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and how to get it deleted. Questions: hello@wedgenie.ai.
2. What we collect
- Account data — your email address and sign-in credentials (or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google).
- Wedding planning data — what you tell the assistant: dates, locations, budgets, guest counts, names, checklist and budget items, saved drafts. This is the product; we store it so your plan persists.
- Chat history — your conversation with the assistant, including compact summaries we generate to keep long conversations coherent.
- Photos you upload — see section 4, which covers photos in detail.
- Generated content — speeches, invitations, images, and films the service creates for you.
- Payment records — handled by Stripe. We store your plan, credit balance, and purchase history; we never see or store your card number.
- Usage and technical data — message counts against your plan's limits, per-request token usage, and page analytics (Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites). If you arrive from an ad, we may store the ad-click identifier (e.g.
gclid) and campaign tags in a cookie to attribute the visit. - Site behaviour — we run our own first-party analytics so we can see where the site confuses people and fix it: pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, which buttons you click, device type and coarse country, and whether steps like signing up or generating a photo succeeded or failed. It is keyed to a random ID in a cookie, stays on our servers, is never shared with anyone or used for advertising, and is deleted after 90 days. We do not record what you type, your keystrokes, your screen, or your form entries.
You can try WedGenie without an account. Anonymous sessions are keyed by a random ID in a cookie, are never linked to your identity unless you sign up (at which point your trial plan carries over to your account), and stale anonymous data is deleted automatically.
3. What we use it for
- Running the service: keeping your plan, generating the content you ask for, enforcing plan limits.
- Transactional email (receipts, account emails) and — if you don't opt out — an occasional planning nudge, capped at one email per week. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Improving the product using aggregate usage data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or your wedding data to train AI models.
4. Your photos (including face photos)
- Photos you upload are used only to generate the content you explicitly request — engagement-style photos, try-ons, venue previews, save-the-date films.
- At upload we re-encode every photo and strip its metadata, including GPS location, before storing it.
- To generate content, your photos are processed by our AI providers (section 5) under agreements that restrict them to providing the service. We do not use your photos to train models.
- Generated photos and films are AI-created images — we label them as such in the product, and we never present them as real photographs.
- You can delete uploaded photos and generated media at any time by deleting them from your account or emailing hello@wedgenie.ai; deletion removes them from our storage.
5. Who processes your data
We use a small set of processors, each only for its job:
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Anthropic (Claude) — powers the planning assistant and quality checks on generated media.
- Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — generates images, video, and music from your requests and photos.
- Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
- Cloudflare / Supabase Storage — stores your uploads and generated media.
- Vercel — hosting and cookieless page analytics. Our own site-behaviour analytics runs on our servers and is not shared with a third party.
- Upstash — background-job queue (job IDs only, no personal content).
- Mailgun — sends our email.
Vendor search queries (e.g. "florists in Austin") go to Google Places and Tavily; these contain the search terms only, never your identity or wedding profile. We may disclose data if required by law.
6. Cookies
We use a short list of first-party cookies: your sign-in session, the anonymous-session ID (30 days), a counter for the free hashtag tool (24 hours), ad-click attribution tags when you arrive from an ad, and a random site-analytics ID (1 year). None of them track you across other websites. Full details in the Cookie Policy.
7. Retention & deletion
- Your data is kept while your account exists.
- Delete your account (or email us) and we delete your personal data, photos, and generated media. Payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting law.
- Anonymous sessions that never become accounts are cleaned up automatically.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and object to or restrict our processing of it. Email hello@wedgenie.ai and we'll act on it. Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/EEA, UK, California), these rights are backed by law, and you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Security & children
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and payment details never touch our servers. WedGenie is for adults planning a wedding — it is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top; material changes will be announced in the product or by email.
