AI info · MCP server
Use WedGenie inside your AI assistant
The WedGenie MCP server connects ChatGPT, Claude and any other assistant that supports MCP connectors to WedGenie's wedding vendor directory, its venue research, its free tools and its current prices. When a couple wants to keep planning, the assistant hands them over to the Genie with one link, and the Genie picks up with what they already said. Read-only, free, no account and no sign-in.

Tools
| Tool | What it returns | Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| search_vendors | Wedding vendors in a US city from the WedGenie directory: name, website, the starting price and capacity the vendor's own site states (with source and date), and the WedGenie page. | city, category, max_guests (venues), limit (up to 10) |
| list_cities_and_categories | The cities and vendor categories the directory covers, with counts and links. | none |
| get_venue_capacity_stats | WedGenie's study of how many guests US wedding venues hold, nationally or for one city, with the citation line. | city (optional) |
| list_free_tools | The free speech, vow, budget, checklist, invitation and photo tools, with links. | none |
| get_pricing_and_facts | Current plans, prices, credit costs, principles and limits, from the same source as the pricing page. | none |
| start_planning_link | A link that opens the WedGenie planner with the couple's city, date, guest count and budget, so the Genie picks up where the assistant left off. | city, date, guests, budget, notes (all optional) |
Every tool only reads. None of them books, buys, writes or sends anything.
Example prompts
- “Use WedGenie to find wedding venues in Austin that hold 150 guests, with their starting prices.”
- “Which cities does the WedGenie vendor directory cover for wedding photographers?”
- “What share of US wedding venues top out at 150 guests? Cite WedGenie's study.”
- “Which free WedGenie tool writes a maid of honor speech?”
- “We want to keep planning this in WedGenie: give us a link with our date, guest count and budget.”
What the data is, and what it is not
- Vendors come from the same directory as the WedGenie vendor pages. A starting price or a capacity is only ever the figure the vendor's own website stated when we read it, with that page as the source and the date. Where none is shown, we have not read one: ask the vendor. Prices and availability change, so couples confirm both with the vendor.
- Ratings, review counts and photos are shown on the WedGenie pages the results link to, not in the tool output.
- No sponsored placements: vendors cannot pay to appear or to rank higher, here or anywhere on WedGenie.
Privacy and limits
- The server needs no account and receives no personal data beyond what the assistant puts in a tool call. For each call we log the tool name, the assistant's name, the city and category searched, and how long it took. We do not store IP addresses. Full policy: privacy policy.
- start_planning_link puts the city, date, guest count and budget into the link itself; nothing is saved until the couple writes to the Genie.
- Up to 10 vendors per call and about 60 calls a minute per address.
