The short answer: there is no single best AI wedding planner, because the thirteen AI wedding planning tools below do different jobs. Pick by the job you need done. To plan by talking, with a short list of vendors that fit you, the source for every figure, and your AI couple photos, dress try-ons and save-the-date videos in the same account, that is ours, WedGenie. Disclosure, first: we make WedGenie, one of the apps on this page, so read it with that in mind. Everything said about another product comes from that product's own public pages, app store listing or press releases, read on October 20, 2026 (The Private Wedding App on November 6, 2026), with the source named next to it. We have not used the other apps hands-on, so this page compares what each one publishes, not how each one feels. Where a product does not publish something, the page says "not published" instead of guessing. What changed since our first check on September 23, 2026 is listed at the end.
WedGenie (ours)
WedGenie is a planner you talk to. You tell "the Genie" about the wedding the way you would tell a friend, and the plan builds as you go: the date, the guest count and the budget are saved the moment you mention them, the checklist and budget fill in, and nothing needs retyping next week. The usual way looks different: a directory in one tab, each vendor's own site in another, a spreadsheet for quotes and an inbox for replies, with nothing connecting them.
For vendors, the Genie searches your city for the category you need, puts the venues that fit your guest count first, and reads each pick's own website for price and capacity, never more than a month old, with the source next to every figure. A fact it cannot verify is labelled instead of guessed. Save a vendor with one tap or one sentence and it lands on your shortlist, where it moves from saved to contacted, quoted and booked. The Genie drafts the inquiry emails for you to send, and a booking goes straight into the budget and ticks the checklist.
Who pays for what lives on the same Board. Tell the Genie your parents are giving $10,000 by March for the venue, and it records the amount, the date and the condition, then shows what is promised against your total and what is still open.
The same account writes speeches, vows and toasts, designs invitations with real typography, and makes AI couple photos, virtual wedding dress try-ons and save-the-date films from your own photos.
Free tier: 10 messages with no account; a free account adds 20 messages a month, 2 speech drafts a day, 2 photo generations and 1 deep vendor-research report. Paid: $14.99 a month or $99 a year; credit packs from $9.99.
Every one of its free tools runs on the page before you make an account, including a seating chart maker that keeps families together, lets you rearrange tables by hand, and prints a table plan plus an A-to-Z find-your-seat sheet.
Where it loses: there is no registry, no wedding website builder and no guest RSVP collection; it has no app in the App Store or Google Play (the site installs to a phone's home screen), and unlike The Knot, Zola and Bridebook it has no app inside ChatGPT; and its browsable vendor directory is US-only and, for now, much smaller than The Knot's. The Genie is not limited to the directory: it searches any city live, and every search a couple runs adds to it. If a registry and a wedding website are what you need, Zola, Joy or The Knot do them free (see The Knot alternatives).
Why we think the size of a vendor list is overrated
A marketplace of 200,000 vendors is impressive, and it leaves the real work with the couple: narrow it to the handful that fit the date, the guest count, the budget and the style, open each one, check that the prices and packages are still what the vendor's own site says, and keep track of who replied. That narrowing and checking is the job we built WedGenie to do, and it is the reason the project started. A couple does not need every vendor in the state. They need five that fit, checked recently, with the source attached.
The Knot's own ChatGPT app points the same way: it ranks vendor picks for you, then hands you to TheKnot.com to contact them. This is our view, and we state it as one. If browsing hundreds of profiles is how you like to choose, The Knot's scale is the better fit.
Where each app's vendor suggestions come from
Four of the thirteen apps say their vendor suggestions come from their own directory or marketplace, and five do not say where theirs come from. It matters for two reasons: a directory can only suggest the vendors who list in it, and a price with no source cannot be checked. WedGenie searches your city live, reads each vendor's own website, and shows that page next to every price and capacity it gives. The Private Wedding App also researches the web live and cites its sources.

The Knot, and its app inside ChatGPT
The Knot Worldwide launched "the wedding industry's first app within ChatGPT" on February 3, 2026. You type "@The Knot" followed by your question, and it returns personalised vendor recommendations across 24 categories, with imagery, AI-generated summaries of reviews, and a hand-off to TheKnot.com to contact the vendor. The release puts the marketplace behind it at "nearly 200,000 U.S. vendors" and "more than 14.6 million trusted reviews". On TheKnot.com, "Your Wedding Plan" works from what you save: "With one click, our AI turns your saved Favorites into vendor recommendations that match your vibe and location." A September 2025 release describes the pieces around it: "Make it Yours" recommendations, the "Your Wedding Plan" dashboard, "Favorites" and "Your Vendors", a place to narrow down your picks.
Where it wins: scale, for couples who like to browse. No AI-first app, ours included, has a vendor pool or a review base anywhere near that size, and the release notes that the ChatGPT app is a free download.
What to know: the releases describe vendor discovery and organising; they do not say whether every AI feature is free, and they do not describe speech writing, invitations or a conversation that plans the whole wedding. On October 14, 2026 The Knot Worldwide also agreed to bring Zola into its portfolio (next section). Zola, now inside ChatGPT too
Zola is best known for its free wedding website and registry, and its AI arrives through ChatGPT. The Zola app there lets you "just describe what you're looking for" and "browse personalized results in an interactive carousel, complete with photos, pricing, and reviews", drawn from "thousands of trusted wedding professionals across the country". Zola does not publish when the app launched. Most of its own tools are free, as the title of its homepage says ("Free Wedding Websites, Registry & Planning Tools"), but its own guide prices two extras: "the seating chart ($14.99) or premium guest texting ($79.99)". The App Store lists the texting at $59.99 as well.
On October 14, 2026, The Knot Worldwide announced an agreement for Zola "to join its global portfolio of brands". The release says "The Knot and Zola will continue as distinct consumer brands" and that the deal is "subject to customary closing conditions, including any required regulatory clearances".
Where it wins: a free registry and wedding website in the same account. None of the AI-first apps here lists a registry.
What to know: some lists credit a "Zola AI" with timelines and checklists. Zola's own guide uses the name for something narrower, "Zola AI helps you write thank yous", and we found no timeline or checklist product under it. In the UK, Bridebook did the same for venues, announced on April 1, 2026: "AI-Powered Wedding Venue Search on ChatGPT", with venue photos, "Pricing and budget guidance", guest capacity and couples' reviews, and "you can send an enquiry directly to the venue without ever leaving ChatGPT". ItsaYes
ItsaYes calls itself "The #1 AI Wedding Planner." and pairs a free planning workspace (timeline and tasks, budget, guest list, vendor management) with an AI design studio that generates matching stationery suites, moodboards and ceremony visuals. Its assistant can "add guests, adjust your budget, reschedule tasks, or compare vendor quotes", working from your own wedding data. The free plan is "$0 always free" and "includes 10 credits each month"; after that you buy one-time packs at $9 (200 credits), $19 (500) or $39 (1,500). A 1K image costs 10 credits, a 2K or 4K image 20, and one AI chat message 1 credit.
Where it wins: pay-once pricing with credits that "never expire", on top of a free plan with a number on it.
What to know: its pages describe design and organisation; they do not mention vendor search with cited sources. Its monthly plans (from $19.90) are for planners running several weddings. Source: itsayes.io and itsayes.io/pricing, read October 20, 2026.
Losava
Losava is a planner you chat with: "One message can update an RSVP, seat a guest, and add a to-do." A style quiz turns your answers into a budget broken into categories, a timeline and a to-do list. Its standout is vendor outreach: "Vendor emails written, sent from your inbox, and followed up on for you." Pro costs $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, and lists "Unlimited Losava conversations", "Vendor discovery & outreach", a seating chart builder and a wedding website builder. The pricing page also says "Start free, upgrade when you hit your AI limit". Older lists call it Claire: weddingclaire.com now redirects to losava.com.
Where it wins: it sends the vendor emails for you. WedGenie drafts them; you send them.

TheWeddingPlanner.ai
The widest feature list of the group: AI task scheduling, budget tracking with alerts, guest list and RSVPs, a drag-and-drop seating chart, a vendor CRM, a day-of timeline generator, an RSVP website with QR codes, moodboards, a shot list, a document vault and room blocks, plus a 24/7 AI assistant and "AI vendor shortlists with honest pros/cons". It now adds "Destination Wedding Support". One plan: "Complete Wedding Suite", "$39.99/month", with a 7-day free trial and no card required.
Where it wins: breadth. Seating chart, RSVP site and document vault in one place.
What to know: it is among the most expensive here at $39.99 a month, and no free plan is mentioned beyond the trial. Source: theweddingplanner.ai, read October 20, 2026.
The Private Wedding App
The Private Wedding App starts from the guests. Its digital invitation opens on a private link, guests RSVP there, choose their meals and answer a severe-allergy question, and each reply updates the guest list, the seating plan and the catering line of the budget. Each guest reads the invitation in the one language they pick, out of 26 built in, up to three per wedding.
Its assistant, Wedding Planner AI, "knows your real wedding" (guests, RSVPs, meals, allergies, seating, budget, checklist and vendors) and "makes the changes for you". It adds guests (up to 200 pasted at once), records deposits and payments, ticks tasks, seats a guest and their party, emails RSVP reminders, and sets up and designs the invitation with you. Each change appears on a card first: "Nothing happens until you tap Confirm." For vendors it "performs live web research" and presents a shortlist "with the source of every piece of information cited", and it "never books or pays a vendor and never deletes anything". The assistant answers in 11 languages.
It costs $19.99 a month with a 3-day free trial, or "$189 one time" for lifetime access ("Pay once, use forever"), with the assistant included and, in its words, "No AI credits and no per-question fees". An interactive demo runs without an account.
Where it wins: the guest side, which WedGenie does not do: an invitation with RSVPs, meals and allergies, seating and guest photo sharing, all feeding the same plan its assistant reads, and a price you can pay once.
What to know: past the 3-day trial and the demo, its pages name no free plan. On the monthly plan "your invitation stays online while your subscription is active"; lifetime access "never expires". Pearl Planner
David's Bridal launched Pearl Planner in August 2025, and it is free: "There's no subscription, no premium tier, and no credit card required." Its chat, Pearl AI, manages tasks, reorganises the timeline, answers planning questions and adds items to a 300+ task dashboard, and "the latest version remembers your preferences". A style quiz and a budget builder sit alongside, and it "recommends pros from our Vendor Directory". It is a web app.
Where it wins: price. Nothing on the couple's side is locked behind a plan.
What to know: vendor suggestions come from David's Bridal's own directory, and the business side is a vendor product: in September 2026 David's Bridal introduced Pearl Connect, a platform for wedding businesses. Loverly
Loverly calls itself "The Free Online Wedding Planner Website" and claims "20+ Free Planning Tools", "25K+ Vetted Vendors" and "350K+ Couples Planning". The tools are a budget tracker, a checklist, a guest list with RSVPs, a vendor manager with payment tracking, vision boards, a style quiz and wedding websites, alongside a vendor marketplace and a large editorial library.
Its AI is aiSLE Assistant™, and it does something none of the others here do: instead of chatting, it ingests. "Forward it. Clip it. Upload it." It reads your vendor proposals, receipts and inspiration and files them into your planning tools automatically.
Where it wins: the admin nobody wants to do. Forwarding a caterer's quote and having it land in the budget is a different approach from asking a chatbot to plan.
What to know: it is not a planning conversation, so it will not talk through a decision, write a speech or research a vendor for you. The planning tools and aiSLE need only a free account. New this month: digital invitations, RSVPs and a website editor, where "Free covers 50 recipients" and "Loverly Premium is one $129 payment for 24 months". Vendors can "Upgrade to Loverly Preferred". WedCheese
A planning app for iOS and Android from Orienjo Limited, on the App Store since May 2026. "When the AI proposes changes, you stay in control—review the plan, approve what you like": one request like "Add 20 guests and adjust the catering budget" becomes a set of guest, budget and task changes you approve. You can also ask for suppliers "by location and style" and save the useful ones. It is "Free to start. 5 daily AI credits included." Premium on the US App Store costs $9.99 a month, $24.99 for three months or $46.99 for six.
Where it wins: control. Nothing changes in your plan until you approve it, and it is the cheapest paid plan here over a year.

Nupt.ai
"A planning assistant that takes action for you. From creating tasks to managing guests, your assistant does more than just answer questions." Nupt.ai adds vendor matching from a description ("Describe your dream vendors and we'll find them"), seating charts "done for you", a wedding website and help with multicultural weddings.
Where it wins: an assistant that does the task rather than describing it, across guests, seating and the website.
What to know: its site says "Get started for free" and publishes no price (its pricing page returns an error); a December 2025 SheerLuxe article put the paid features at $19.99 a month. Sources: nupt.ai and sheerluxe.com, read October 20, 2026.
The Studio
For couples marrying away from home in France, Italy or Switzerland. Its AI planner, Annette, "writes to vendors in French, Italian or Spanish, files the quotes that come back, rebalances the budget when one lands", with human planners for the judgement calls. Solo costs $49 a month, Guided $149 and Concierge $299. It launched on August 20, 2026, on the web, with an iOS app promised for the autumn.
Where it wins: the language and distance problem. No other app here writes to a vendor in Italian for you.
What to know: its homepage says "Every couple starts free. The whole platform for 7 days, with no card", after which a membership opens it again, while its launch press release describes a free tier that keeps the checklist, budget, timeline and design tools. The Bride Bot
A chat assistant from The Wedding Mentor, Sarah Lizabeth, described as "The only AI trained on 20+ years of real wedding experience and a proven 4-step wedding planning process", the process from her book Planning a Wedding for Dummies. It answers planning questions, helps write vendor emails and follow-ups, and gives level-headed advice on budget, decor and family conflict. It runs in a browser on any device.
Where it wins: a named human planner's method behind the answers.
What to know: the price is not on its landing page; the checkout page its buttons lead to says "The Bride Bot™ is $97. One payment, yours for your entire engagement. Unlimited questions." The page does not mention planning tools such as a budget tracker or a guest list. What about plain ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude?
They are free, they are good brainstorming partners, and they are risky sources for anything that has to be true on the day. We tested that in September. Asked for five wedding venues with capacity and starting price in five US cities, five consumer chatbots gave 61 of 240 capacity and price figures that contradicted the venue's own website. The Genie gave 0: it left a figure blank where a venue publishes none, and cited the venue's own site for all 25 of its venues. The chatbots' capacity figures matched the venue's own in 75 of 120 cases. - You want to pay nothing at all: Pearl Planner.
- You want a registry: none of the AI-first apps lists one. Use Zola or Joy, both free, alongside whichever planner you like.
- You care most about how the paper looks: ItsaYes.
- You dread the vendor emails: Losava.

It depends on the job. For planning by conversation with sourced vendor picks, WedGenie (ours); for the largest marketplace, The Knot; for free with nothing locked, Pearl Planner; for vendor emails sent for you, Losava. The table at the top sorts all thirteen by what each is best for.
Is there a free AI wedding planner?
Yes. Pearl Planner is free with no premium tier. ItsaYes gives 10 AI credits a month, WedCheese 5 a day, and WedGenie 10 messages with no account and 20 a month with a free one. The Knot's and Zola's apps run inside ChatGPT, which is a free download.
Which wedding apps work inside ChatGPT?
The Knot, since February 3, 2026, with US vendors in 24 categories; Zola, with vendor results that show photos, pricing and reviews (it does not publish a launch date); and in the UK, Bridebook, for venues, announced April 1, 2026. The Knot calls its app "the wedding industry's first app within ChatGPT".
How much does an AI wedding planner cost?
From nothing to $299 a month. The cheapest monthly plan is WedCheese's at $9.99; The Studio's Concierge plan is the most expensive at $299. A year at each paid app's cheapest published way to pay costs from $93.98 to $588; WedGenie Pro is $99 a year.
Can an AI app plan the whole wedding?
It can carry most of the paperwork: the checklist, the budget, the vendor shortlist and the emails. None of these apps is there on the day, and The Studio is the only one here that pairs its AI with human planners. For the day itself, couples usually hire a coordinator; what they do and cost is in day-of wedding coordinator.

Twelve other products, from their own public pages, app store listings and press releases, read on October 20, 2026 (The Private Wedding App on November 6, 2026); the first edition read six of them on September 23, 2026. Every price and quote was matched against the page's own text, not a summary of it. Checked and left out: Joy, whose AI writes (Writer's Block) and seats guests on its paid chart rather than plans, and WeddingWire, whose chat helper, Taylor, finds vendors rather than plans.
